Exploring the Q in LGBTQ: Demographic characteristic and sexuality of queer people in a U.S. representative sample of sexual minorities. Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, 7(1), 101-112. https://doi.org/10.1037/sgd0000359

Course Description: The researchers explored the characteristics and sexuality of people who identify as queer by comparing them with those who identify as lesbian/gay, bisexual, or other sexual minority identities. Data show most queer people identify as cisgender and genderqueer/nonbinary (GQNB). The researchers found many queer people are cisgender women and genderqueer/nonbinary (GQNB).  The researchers posit their results indicate queer can be identified as a distinctive sexual identity. The study's benefit will enable skilled professionals to expand their knowledge of queer individual's lives.
