Course Format: This is a live, interactive online course taught by an instructor via Zoom. Participants are required to attend the live online workshop, participate in group discussion, and complete the course evaluation before earning the certificate of attendance.
Course Developed By: Pam Sirota, Psy.D., LMFT
Bio: Pam has a private practice in West Los Angeles and Encino specializing in social skills groups, family issues, children and adolescents, grief support, and parenting. Her extensive experience as a special education teacher and pre-school director makes her an ideal instructor. She has been working as a private GGS tutor since becoming licensed in 2005. Pam has received her doctorate as a Clinical Psychologist.
Course Description:
Our daily lives are full of challenges and we are frequently involved with stressful situations. Our tolerance of frustration and our ability to regulate emotions appropriately are key to managing stress and anger.
In this course you will learn how to help clients with anger issues. We will cover educating the client about the importance of learning skills that will empower them to have control over this "uncontrollable" emotion, navigate through the physiological effects of chronic anger, learn tools to assess anger, investigate different types of communication, and learn how to use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Mindfulness Techniques to treat these clients.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the signs and symptoms of chronic anger and how it affects individuals in their daily lives in the areas of relationships, careers, law, and health.
- Illustrate new tools to assess anger.
- Apply principles of cognitive behavioral therapy when treating clients with anger issues.
- Use mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help relieve clients in stressful settings.

Course Completion Requirements:
Attendees must be present for the duration of the training as evidenced by the attendance report generated by Zoom, as well as complete the course evaluation to receive a certificate of credit.
Evaluation:
The course evaluation is accessible in your student account. After completing the training, log into your AATBS student account to complete the course evaluation.
How certificate is issued:
Upon verification of attendance and completion of the course evaluation, each participant will be able to access a personal CE certificate of attendance in their student account.
Approvals:
Social workers completing this course receive 6 clinical continuing education credits.
