Course Description: Mindfulness, a nonjudgmental awareness in the present, originated from Theravada Buddhist philosophy and an Indian yoga tradition. Researchers discovered mindfulness practices have many benefits, from the reduction of stress to enhancing positive emotions. In the current study, the researchers explored mindfulness communication as a means of improving resilience among first-year college students. The researcher found that most students who participated in the mindfulness communication training experienced more positive emotions and less stress. The benefit of mindfulness training with college-aged students enables skilled professions to provide the targeted individuals additional coping skills.
