Course Description: This course presents research from the 2012 National Strategy for Suicide Prevention: Goals and Objectives for Action. This is a report from the U.S. Surgeon General and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention Health (NSDUH). This document is a follow up to a previously issued report and is intended to provide an organized effort to prevent suicide across the United States.
Learning Objectives:
- Delineate findings on the rates of suicide among various demographics and populations.
- Analyze information about means and methods of suicide among various populations.
- Describe goals and objectives for suicide prevention.
- Compile research on various risk factors that may affect the likelihood that people in certain  populations will engage in suicidal behavior.
