Course Description: This course provides detailed information about the dynamics of domestic violence; screening, identification, assessment and intervention with victims of domestic violence; and interventions with batterers. Practical tools are included such as a Model Hospital Intervention packet outlining effective protocols and sample forms for screening, domestic violence/abuse assessment, documentation, safety planning and discharge. In addition, suggestions are offered to help develop and implement response strategies and programs within a variety of health care practices and settings.
