The researchers in this study explored the impact of social media reactions and social media addiction on job performance and work-life balance, utilizing the conservation of resources theory.  Social media reaction is the emotional experience of a person to social media posts. In contrast, social media addiction is the excessive and compulsive use of media to the detriment of other areas in a person's life, such as work-life balance, job burnout, and ultimately damaging job performance. The researchers found a negative relationship between social media and addiction and work-life balance and a positive relationship between social media reactions and burnout. The study's benefit enables skilled professionals to understand better how social media affects job performance, providing more awareness to individuals and organizations.
