Coaches’ Corner Recap

A couple weeks ago, our in-house exam coaches did an edition of Coaches’ Corner where they discussed some frequently asked questions about behavioral health licensure exams.

Melissa and Jennifer explained some of the basics for the psychology licensing exam (EPPP), the National MFT exam, the California MFT exam, the National Social Work exams, the California Social Work exam, and the Counseling exams. Some of the concerns they addressed were:

  • How do I know when I’m ready to take my exam?
  • What is the structure of the various exams?
  • How should I approach situations where I disagree with the rationale on application-based exam questions?
  • Should I expect to feel fully prepared before taking an exam?
  • How much self-doubt is okay?
  • What factors should I consider when scheduling an exam?
  • When does my access to TestMASTER begin?
  • What are the time frames for retesting if I don't pass?
  • How can I connect with others who are studying?

This video also addressed some concerns specific to particular licensures, including changes coming to the Social Work exams (read more here and here) and Psychology exam, the importance of checking with your state board on various issues, and what scores are required to pass the different licensure exams.
